Effective against laminitis in Horses and Ponies
Laminitis is an acute ailment that almost prevents horses and ponies from walking altogether it is an inflammation of the laminae in the joint between the hoof and the pedal.
The inflammation causes a swelling for which there is no room, which causes very painful pressure spots.
Laminitis is caused by excess sugars (fructan, glucose) when the intestinal flora are disrupted and it results in reduced liver function.
The fructan content of grass can be high, especially in the spring, resulting in an increased risk of laminitis.
Hippo-EX-Laminitis is an animal feed supplement that is effective against laminitis in horses and ponies.
The remedy improves digestion in the intestines.
The active ingredient is a – globally patented – peptide. This peptide binds to the excess sugar molecules that the liver cannot metabolise.
As a result, the substances that cause laminitis are rendered harmless.
Hippo-EX-Laminitis restores the balance of the intestinal flora and supports the liver by removing toxic substances.
Its effectiveness has been proven in practice in various European countries.
Hippo-EX-Laminitis can be obtained without a prescription; there is no risk of an overdose.
Horses and ponies that have suffered from laminitis for prolonged periods of time will also respond positively.
Please note that deformed hooves must be trimmed by an expert in several phases to restore the 'straight' condition.

Usage
Hippo-EX-Laminitis
¦ Administration:
Hippo-EX-Laminitis is a powder and should be mixed in feed (preferably concentrate, bran).
Each pack comes with a 5g measuring scoop.
¦ Nutritional value per 100 grams:
Raw fat 0%; sugars 0%; raw protein 4,1%.
Dosage instructions:
¦ Normal Maintenance:
One level measuring scoop (5g) once every three days.
¦ Recovery from Laminitis:
One level measuring scoop (5g) of Hippo-EX-Laminitis powder nto feed every day for at least 3-4 weeks whilst the animal recovers from the pain in the hooves.
Afterwards, administer one level measuring scoop (5g) of Hippo-EX-Laminitis powder every three days
for maintenance. Repeat if required.
¦ Followed by:
As long-term laminitis may cause (severe) hoof deformations, your farrier should trim in phases
(two to three times) until a correct position is obtained.
Remember that certain muscles/tendons may have been used insufficiently or not at all if walking
has been painful for an extended periode of time. Full recovery will require exercise/physiotherapy.
Walking and/or lunging on a daily basis will definitely contribute to recovery.
