Properties of each ingredient:
The basis of “Muscle support” contains all nutrients – in small amounts – in order to optimize metabolism and prevent a deficiency. Glucosamine, Chondroitine, Calcium, Magnesium and MSM have also been added; after all, extra muscle mass and muscle power require strong ligaments and joints.
The following substances have a direct effect on muscles:
• Octacosanol is derived from wheat germ and ensures:
- improved oxygen use
- improved storage of glycogeen in the muscles
- improved stamina
- improved muscle co-ordination
- improved muscle recovery during relaxation.
• Gamma oryzanol and Ferulic acid derived from it (as well as plant sterols) have an anabolic effect. They promote an increase in body mass (fat free). Taking these substances increases the insulin growth factor (IGF-1 level). The insulin growth factor in turn ensures an improved growth hormone level. This hormone leads to an increase in muscular tissue and strengthening tissue (both fat free).
It has been shown that these two substances also have a highly favourable effect on stress reactions by protecting cells from free radicals.
• Creatine monohydrate increases the ATP level (Adenosine triphosphate), an energy-rich phosphate compound. This prevents muscle tiredness so that maximum performance can be given. Another function of Creatine is to stimulate the growth of muscular fibres.

Usage
De Groene Os - Muscle Support
Dosage for horses and ponies:
Horses and ponies: 1 to 2 measures a day mixed through feed. 1 measure contains 20 grams.
For horses and ponies, it is best to moisten the powder in the feeding utensil to prevent it from being blown away.
Contraindication
Gestation and lactation period.
Unless prescribed otherwise by a vet or therapist.
