Description/i>

Glucosamine Complete ensures healthy joints. The balanced composition supports the structure and the care of the articular cartilage, ligaments and joint capsules and takes care of an optimal quality of the synovial fluids, which is of great importance to the lubrication of the joints. Glucosamine Complete contains, amongst other things, glucosamine and chondroitin for the formation of the proteoglycans. Proteoglycans, water, cartilage cells and collagen make up the articular cartilage. The cartilage acts as a buffer between both ends of the joint. Also, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper and mangane are crucial to the structure and the performance of the joint. Furthermore, Glucosamine Compleet contains anti-inflammatory ingredients.

Properties of each ingredient:

- Glucosamine (as glucosaminesulphate 2 KCl): This is the easily absorbable form of glucosamine, which is vital to the regeneration of the articular cartilage and the structure of the connective tissue. It also keeps inflammation of the joints under control. As significant building material, it stimulates the production of proteoglycans, collagen en hyaluronic acid. These are the most important components of cartilage and synovia (synovial fluid), which make sure the joints are elastic and well lubricated, in order to guarantee smooth and flexible movement.

- Chondroitinsulphate: This is the most common glycosaminoglycan in the cartilage and connective tissue. Glycosaminoglycans are part of the proteoglycans, which are vital to the elasticity of the articular cartilage. So chondroitinsulphates are the building materials for the synthesis of healthy cartilage.

- Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM): This is an essential nutrient for joint tissue, which keeps the connective tissue matrix of cartilage, tendons and ligaments in shape. MSM is necessary for the formation of chondroitinsulphates, the building blocks of cartilage. It also has an analgesic (pain-killing) effect.

- Calciumcitrate: This is vital in bone building, since it regulates the acid/base balance in the blood, which is of vital importance to a proper bone metabolism. Stress increases the need for calcium.

- Magnesiumcitrate: This is both significant to the strength of the bones and it has a relaxing effect on the muscles.

- Seleniummethionine: This is a crucial antioxidant, as it decreases chronic inflammation, advances the recovery and reduces the risk of complications after surgery. The absorption of this type of selenium is practically 100%.

When used for a longer period of time, it is important to pay attention to the ratio iron:zinc:mangane:copper = 7:7:1:1

- Iron (as ferrofumarate): This has a regulating effect on all metabolic processes. Iron is necessary for the resynthesis of connective tissue during recovery. The chemical form of iron in this supplement is well absorbable.

- Zinc (as zinccitrate): This has a synergistic (stimulating) effect on the cartilage synthesis. For horses, the advice is not to give this with muesli, for the presence of phytic acid in muesli prevents proper absorption of zinc.

- Mangane (as manganecitrate): This is part of several enzymes, glycosyltransferases in particular. These are important for the formation of glycosaminoglycans in cartilage. Too much phosphorus in food disturbs the absorption of mangane.

- Copper (as coppergluconate): Copper is an essential component of various enzymes, including enzymes that are important to the structure of connective tissue and bone. In addition, copper protects the tissue, since it is important building material of the antioxidantenzyme SOD, which shields tissue from the effects of long term inflammation, such as arthritis.

- Boswelia serrata (incense tree): This has a pain killing and anti-inflammatory effect. Boswelia acids bind to the enzymes 5-lipoxygenases (LOX), which produce leukotrienes. Leukotrienes are responsible for maintaining chronic inflammation. Boswelia slows down the production of leukotrienes, which diminishes the inflammation.

- Harpagophytum procumbens (Devil’s Claw): This contains iridoid glycosides and phenolic acids. It has a highly anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect, which has been demonstrated by scientific research.

- Zingiber officinale (ginger): This amplifies the immune system by restoring the eicosanoids balance, which is why Zingiber has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect without adverse reactions to the gastrointestinal tract.
