ESC Goudron Végétal - 500G
Tar is obtained by pyrolysis (a slow combustion without oxygen) from wood (usually pine but beech can also be used). It is a mixture of resin and empyreumatic oil. It is characterized by a strong and acrid odor produced by certain organic materials, charcoal residues and pyrologous acid by fire. Its very dark color is due to charcoal.
The use of tar as a care dating back to the 18th century, the properties of Norwegian tar were described in the pharmacology manuals as early as 1745.
Its properties are related to its chemical composition which contains phenolic compounds and lipophilic compounds (resinic acids, terpenes). Polyphenols are known for their antioxidant and purifying role.
