Horse therapy rug – for recovery and muscle support
We offer an extensive range of therapy rugs for horses, including both therapeutic and massage rugs. A therapy rug stimulates blood circulation, which means muscles receive more oxygen. This aids recovery after training or competition and keeps back muscles supple and relaxed.
Different types of therapy rugs for horses
We are convinced of the effectiveness of the following therapeutic and massage rugs: Back on Track, Bucas Recuptex, Rambo Ionic, and Equilibrium. They all work in different ways, but yield the same result: better blood circulation and faster recovery.
Rambo Ionic
The Rambo Ionic therapy rug features an inner lining with the crystal powder Tourmaline. This natural mineral emits negative ions, which promote blood circulation and provide more oxygen to the muscles. It helps to clear lactic acid faster, keeping your horse more supple and recovering quicker – ideal both before and after training.
Back on Track
Back on Track uses the Welltex® fabric, which incorporates ceramic fibers. These fibers reflect body heat as infrared radiation. This stimulates blood flow, removes waste products faster, and reduces muscle tension. The result: more supple muscles, a lower risk of injuries, and support for recovery.
Bucas Therapy
Bucas Therapy rugs are made from yarn with stainless steel. This fabric acts like a Faraday cage and reflects the body's natural magnetic field. This stimulates blood circulation and oxygen supply, helps reduce swelling, and supports recovery. Kentucky also uses Recuptex technology in certain therapy rugs.
Massage rugs for horses
In addition to classic therapy rugs, there are also massage rugs that actively stimulate muscles through vibrations or massage programs.
Equilibrium
The Equilibrium massage pad offers three programs (high, medium, and low) and three massage modes: pulsing, vibrating, and stroking. This allows muscles to be treated in different ways. The sessions last 30 minutes and operate on battery, making the pad easy to use.
LED Therapy for horses
A relatively new development is the use of LED therapy in horses. These rugs or pads utilize red and infrared LED lights that penetrate deep into the skin and muscles.
- Red light stimulates blood flow in the upper skin and muscle layers.
- Infrared light penetrates deeper and supports the recovery of muscles, tendons, and joints.
Benefits of LED therapy:
- Promotes muscle relaxation and reduces stiffness.
- Supports recovery after training and injuries.
- Stimulates cell renewal and tissue regeneration.
- Safe, painless, and non-invasive with regular use.
An LED therapy rug for your horse is a valuable addition to existing methods such as magnetic therapy, ceramic fabrics, or massage.
