They prevent muscles from cooling down too quickly, thus ensuring comfort and injury prevention. Why do you need a quarter sheet?

A horse quarter sheet (also called riding rug or kidney blanket) is used during warm-up, when your horse is not yet fully warmed up, or during cooling down, to prevent muscles from cooling down too quickly. Especially in cold temperatures or for clipped horses, a quarter sheet is ideal, and you can even ride with it.

A quarter sheet without a saddle cut-out is also very suitable for lunging. The lunge girth can easily be attached over the blanket, or the blanket can be attached to the girth. These variants are also called Quarter Sheets or square exercise sheets.
