Split Technologie

As humans we wear one type of garment on the upper body and another for the lower body. This allows us to move freely. The horse’s body is somewhat the same. His front and back are constructed differently and move differently. The only way to resolve the majority of fitting problems is to have two different garments combined as one.

The position of the split

The Rambo Split originates at a crucial point of the horse’s anatomy, the 6th vertebrae at the base of the neck. This allows the front and back of the rug to move independently. The front of the rug is free to pivot, extend, turn and float with the shoulder while the back of the rug will sit firmly in position.

Important:

This rug has a large fit due to the high split at the withers. Therefore Horseware advises to buy the Rambo Optimo rug one size smaller (10 cm) then the usual rug size. For example: if your horses rug size is 145/198, please select size 140/191 for the Rambo Optimo rug.

If you order the rug with a liner, please make sure to fit the rug with the liner as well, to make sure the rug has the best fit for your horse. When selecting the correct size, please consider the fact if you will be using the rug mainly with or without the matching liners.
