Rambo Micklem – the anatomical bridle for ultimate comfort
The Rambo Micklem bridle was the first anatomical bridle on the market and was developed by William Micklem. This innovative bridle is specially designed to relieve pressure on sensitive nerves and pressure points on the horse's head. Where traditional bridles often cause discomfort due to pressure behind the ears and on the jaw, the Rambo Micklem offers a comfortable fit and a quieter position for the bit. The result: more relaxation, better contact, and a happier horse.
Which Rambo Micklem bridles are available?
- Rambo Micklem Multi Bridle – a versatile bridle that can be used with or without a bit. Bitless options include: sidepull, jaw crossed, or chin crossed. Thanks to the ring on the noseband, this model can also be used as a caveson. Please note: because the Multi Bridle can also be used as a caveson, this bridle is not allowed in competitions.
- Rambo Micklem Competition Bridle – designed for use with a bit and permitted in competitions. Available in two variants: the standard version and the Deluxe with white decorative stitching on the noseband and browband.
How does the Micklem bridle work?
The special noseband of the Micklem is directly connected to the poll piece. The bit is attached to the noseband with bit straps, ensuring minimal pressure behind the ears. When your horse opens its mouth or you apply more rein pressure, the pressure is felt on the nose rather than the poll. This makes the bridle also suitable for stronger horses that respond better to rein aids on the nose.
Additionally, the noseband is shaped to avoid running over the jaw, while the throatlatch is guided along the cheek to avoid sensitive nerves. For extra stability of the bit, the included bit clips can be used.
